Facet electric freeze-proofing systems are designed to prevent damage
to oil/water separators from freezing temperatures. Each system
is custom designed to meet the needs of the particular climatic
conditions.
Facet's systems are provided in either screw-plug type or flanged,
depending on the size of the overall system and conditions. The
heating elements are normally immersion type, but external heaters
may be specified if necessary. The heaters consist of hairpin bent
tubular heating elements brazed or welded into a pipe plug (or flange)
and provided with a terminal housing for electrical connections.
Installation is accomplished by screwing the heater into a threaded
pipe coupling welded into the separator. Facet's factory installs
all heaters. Standard heater sizes are 1½" and 2"
NPT and 3" and 4" flanged, depending on the amount of
heat required. A wide selection of heater wattages and options is
available.
